Cq9332 Gearhead 12"×24" Metal Lathe
Nice machine but rather noisy in the gears.
In highest gear setting the lathe runs very erratically,
and kicks the breaker.
Not everytime but 85% of the time it does.
Was told it was cold and needed warming up.
75 deg in my shop and nobetter.

Seems like a good lathe, great cutting, a bit sticky being new.

Still waiting for a short order of the four jaw chuck; 4JCPB8-9332 with plate.

Q: What kind of bearings and lube is in the headstock? I assume it is tapered roller and a wet headstock with spindle oil as opposed to dry and sealed ball bearings.

A: Don’t buy the Bolton tools bench lathe. I had it 4 months and the motor went out twice. It takes forever to get parts from them.

A: The manual from Bolton Tools mentions it but the reference on fig 38 is unrelated. It says to not use the dial on metric threads so assuming it’s an imperial lead screw. I haven’t received my order yet though but if it doesn’t I’ll update this response (a
