  1. WEISS WBL290F bench lathe is a specially designed machine with an outstanding value and able to take on light duty jobs requiring a 11" swing, 1-1/2" (38mm) spindle bore and 29" between centers. 
  2. The Primary purpose of WBL290F is to make concentric cuts in metal stock. With the lathe, round stock can be made perfectly concentric, threaded, drilled, knurled, bored, tapered, etc. 
  3. Real inch leadscrew and all feed screws for even, easy measurements. No need metric conversions
  4. D1-4 camlock spindle make swapping chucks a lot easier, more precision
  5. Large 1-1/2" spindle bore

Good initial impression
Understand what you are buying and you'll be satisfied with what you get. The lathe is actually quite well made from what I can tell so far.
Expect to spend time cleaning, deburring, installing and tuning before getting good results - the work is not done for you, and no-one will be holding your hand.
Packing is pretty good; the lathe made a 15,000 mile trip and arrived without damage. You will need some rigging in order to set it up (minimum - cherry picker).
I can't comment on the machining quality yet, I'm still setting it up, but visually and mechanically it's good. Accuracy is yet to be determined.
